Paragliding in Lebanon

Lebanon is definitely a place where the flying is good.
The mountains or the sea shore offer excellent places where to fly, and the year-round nice weather offers multiple occasions to enjoy the flying in the lebanon sky.
Curiously enough though, the number of pilots in the country is quite low, mostly because of the lack of proper structures where to learn in safe conditions.
Increasing the number of pilots and growing the paragliding activity is what 'paragliding lebanon' school has been made.

The flying sites

Around Beyrouth are some real nice flying sites : in Hammana, Ghosta or Jbeil you will find places where the flying is really great.
The north part of the country is also a great area where to fly : in Deddeh, Mizziara or The Cedars will give you nice opportunities for paragliding.
Last but not least, the Chouf area offers a real great flying and wonderfull landscape in Barouk.

The legislation

All the paragliding sites are discussed with the army and require daily authorizations available via the paragliding lebanese clubs.
Insurances for free flight activity can hardly be found in Lebanon, but the french free flight federation can provide an insurance to everyone living in Lebanon, whatever your nationality.
