BEYOND BEIRUT
1 ReviewsIt's a voyage into the eccentric, the overlooked, and the offbeat corners of Beirut's urban landscape. it's an invitation to embrace a city that refuses to be defined by convention.
Motivated by the authentic spirit of this Mexican artist, comes Frida Cuisine - a Lebanese restaurant with a Mexican flare! The goal behind this concept is to blend Farida (Unique), the Lebanese traditional girl, who sings a Lebanese menu and paints exceptional dishes with the Mexican Frida, drawing on her art and own passion for life. Thus Frida restaurant and bar modernizes Lebanese food by giving it a Mexican twist, adding a fresh touch to it and making a contemporary blend of both Lebanese and Mexican cultures.
The truthfulness, rebellious life and natural talent of Frida Kahlo are the inspirations of our chef in order to give the essence of this fusion.
Frida Cuisine logo bears in English the exact signature of Frida Kahlo. As for Arabic, the name represents ' فريدة' (unique) with an Arabic calligraphy. Frida (English) embraces 'فريدة' in an enchanting design.
Soft tender music is played during the opening hours of Frida. But not any kind of music; special fusions of Lebanese Mexican traditional hits are played through the latest technologies of surround systems. Think Lebanese Hanin E Son Cubano.
Food - Items on Frida menu include a twist of Mexican names with Lebanese dishes such as Mexican Halloumi, Makanek with Jalapenos, Mini Frida Fajitas... But that's not just it. When we talk about fusion, we mean using true Mexican ingredients (jalapenos, lime, avocado, cheddar cheese, red & green chili, red & green capsicum, ...) and sauces such as Pico de Gallo, Tomato Salsa, Sour Cream, Guacamole.
Beverages - Lebanese people are used to drink Arak with their Mezzeh. In Frida, they would have a totally different experience: Mexican margarita is the queen, but not any margarita. The Chili Margarita takes you to the hottest street of Mexico City. The Cinnamon Margarita lays its roots deep into the Mexican origins. The Mango Margarita gives this exotic new feeling. As for the Jellab, Watermelon and Chocolate Marguaritas, they marry Mexico to Beirut with a true fusion of blends. However, if you are of the Oriental type, ask for our special mix of Arak with berries. Result guaranteed!
